How to use Lynko Sports

Find your role below. If you are more than one of these, read both. One account covers all of them.

Put Lynko on your phone

Lynko runs in your phone's browser. Adding it to your home screen gives you an icon that opens it full screen, like any other app. Worth two minutes whichever role you are.

On an iPhone or iPad

Open app.lynkosports.com in Safari. This does not work from Chrome on an iPhone, which is the usual reason it fails.

Tap the share button, the square with the arrow coming out of it, at the bottom of the screen.

Scroll down the list and tap Add to Home Screen, then tap Add.

You now have a Lynko icon on your home screen that opens straight into the app with no address bar.

On an Android phone

Open app.lynkosports.com in Chrome.

Tap the three dots at the top right, then Add to Home screen, then Install.

Some phones show a prompt at the bottom of the screen offering to install. Either way works.

Things worth knowing

There is nothing to download from an app store and nothing to update. The icon opens the same site you were already using.

Install from app.lynkosports.com, not from lynkosports.com. Adding the front page instead gives you an icon that opens a brochure.

Inside the app there is no browser back button, because there is no browser bar. On an iPhone, swipe in from the left edge to go back.

If you were signed in before you added it, you may need to sign in once more inside the new icon.

For club directors

Your account covers your buildings, who is allowed to coach in them, everything booked there, and what you are owed for the court time.

Setting your club up

Start with facilities. Add each building, then the spaces inside it, and set what each space costs per hour.

Price the space rather than the coach. A court has one rate and every coach who books it is charged the same way.

If you collect court rent by Venmo, add the club's Venmo handle. Coaches paying you tap through with it already filled in, so check it carefully before you save.

Add your club logo from the club screen. Coaches and families in your club see it in the app.

Getting your coaches in

Invite coaches from your coaches screen. They get an email and, once they have an account, access to your spaces.

A coach who already uses Lynko for another club keeps their existing account. Access is per club and they will not see anything outside your buildings.

Approving a coach lets them book your spaces. It does not give them anything else.

Your schedule and your bookings

Reservations and practices go on the club schedule. Anything you block there is not bookable by a coach.

Bookings shows every private lesson in your buildings regardless of which coach it belongs to.

If you also coach, your own lessons appear in both places, because they are the same lesson.

Collecting court rent

Your money screen totals rent by coach. Every entry came from a lesson that actually happened in one of your spaces.

A coach marks the payment sent, and you confirm it arrived or say it did not. Confirming is what closes it.

Rent can be settled in batches rather than one lesson at a time, which is usually how a month actually gets paid.

If a charge should not have been made, you can waive it. Waiving is recorded rather than deleted, so the history stays honest.

Adding another administrator

You can invite someone else at the club to administer it with you from the club screen. Useful so the club does not depend on one person's login.

Getting families connected

The club screen has a join link you can send to your whole family list. A family who joins reaches every approved coach at your club without looking anyone up.

The same link comes as a QR code. Print it and put it up in the gym, on the check-in desk, or on a tournament flyer. A parent points a phone at it and lands on signup already connected to your club, with nothing to type.

Coaches can still invite their own families directly. Both work at once.

For coaches

Your account holds your available times, the families you have approved, your session notes, and both sides of the money.

Setting up

Fill in your profile first, including your hourly rate. Families cannot see a price you have not set.

If you take Venmo, put your Venmo handle in and confirm it. Getting this right matters: a family paying you taps straight through to Venmo with your handle already filled in, so a typo sends someone else your money. Confirm it once and it is done.

If you take cash, or anything else, say so in your payment instructions so a family knows what to do.

If you coach at a club, the club has to give you access before their spaces show up for you. A director does this from their coaches screen.

If you run a club and also coach in it, there is a control on your profile that adds coaching to your own account. You do not need a second login.

Posting your available times

Availability is where you set the hours you can work. Change it whenever you like. It is live the moment you save, and there is no sheet to send anyone.

Time off is set in the same place. Blocking a stretch of time removes it from what families can book without you deleting your regular hours.

If you coach at a club, your open times are limited to when the club's spaces are actually available. A time will not show to a family if the court is not free.

Adding and approving families

Your athletes screen is where your roster lives, and it is the only place you schedule from.

You can send a family an invitation link. A family who opens it comes out already approved to book you, with no lookup step.

Families can also find you by your email address, which arrives as a request for you to approve or ignore.

If you already coach an athlete who has no account yet, you can add them as a placeholder and connect the family later.

Getting a text when someone books you

You can have Lynko text you when a family books a lesson, so you are not refreshing a screen to find out.

Turn it on from your profile, reachable from the header rather than the menu bar. Add your phone number and turn consent on.

You can turn it off at any time in the same place, or reply STOP to any message.

Finishing a lesson and getting paid

Mark a lesson finished when it is done. That is what creates the charge to the family.

The family pays you and marks how they paid it, by Venmo or by cash. It then sits with you to confirm it arrived or say it did not.

Confirm only when you have actually seen the money. Saying it did not arrive sends the charge back to the family with your reason and gives them one reply.

Your money screen shows what families owe you and, separately, what you owe the club in court rent.

Court rent

If you coach at a club that charges for court time, each lesson you book into one of their spaces records the rent it generated at that moment.

You are not reconstructing anything at the end of the month, and neither is the club. It is on both screens as it happens.

Pay the club the way they have asked, then mark it sent. The club confirms receipt on their side, the same shape as the family side.

Session notes

You can leave notes on a lesson that the athlete's family can read. Use it for what you worked on and what to practice.

Notes are attached to the lesson, so a parent looking back at last month sees the note that goes with it.

For families

You have an account so you can book lessons for your athletes and keep track of what you owe.

Getting your account started

Create an account, then check your email and click the confirmation link. You will not be signed in until you do, and that catches most people out.

If a coach or a club sent you an invitation link, use that link to sign up rather than starting from scratch. The invitation comes with you and connects you to that coach automatically.

Add each athlete you are booking for. One account covers all of your children.

Why can I not book a lesson yet?

A coach has to approve you before you can book with them. That is deliberate. Coaches decide who is on their roster.

There are three ways to get connected: use an invitation link a coach sent you, look a coach up by their email address on your home screen, or join a club pool, which reaches every approved coach at that club at once.

Once at least one coach has approved you, a Book a lesson link appears on your home screen. Until then it is hidden rather than broken.

Booking a lesson

Open Book a lesson, pick your athlete and your coach, and choose from the times that coach has posted as open.

You are seeing real availability, not a copy of a schedule. If a time is showing, it is open right now.

Your coach confirms the booking. You will get a text and a notification when they do.

Paying for a lesson

Lynko does not take your money. You pay your coach directly, the same way you already do.

When a lesson is finished it shows up under what you owe, along with how that coach wants to be paid.

Send the payment, then press Paid by Venmo or Paid by cash, whichever you used. That is the whole job. You are not asked to confirm it again.

Press it once. The app will not let you press it twice, on purpose, because a second claim is one nobody can verify.

Your coach marks it received on their side. The only time this comes back to you is if a coach says a payment never arrived, in which case you will see their reason and get one reply.

Turning text messages on or off

Reminders and updates go out by text. You control this on your profile, reachable from the header rather than the menu bar.

You can add or change your phone number there, and turn consent off if you would rather not get texts. You can also reply STOP to any message.

When something is wrong

I signed up but cannot sign in

Check your email for a confirmation link and click it. Your account does not work until you do. Look in spam.

I used an invitation link and it does not seem to have worked

Sign in and look at your home screen. Invitations are applied on your first visit after signing in, not at the moment you click the link.

I am not getting text messages

Open your profile from the header. Check that your phone number is there and that consent is turned on. If you ever replied STOP, that stops messages regardless of what the app says.

A time I expected to be open is not showing

Three things can hide a time: the coach has not posted it, the coach has time off covering it, or the club space is already reserved. Ask the coach first.

Something is wrong and none of this covers it

Use the Feedback link in the app header. It comes to us with enough context to work out what happened.
